About Us

Mission

Canaan Community Development Corporation's mission is: "To foster social and economic empowerment in underserved communities.” As servant leaders we willfully sacrifice our time and exhaust our intellect to improve the situation of others. We serve persons residing in the Metro Louisville Area.

CCDC offers social programs that deal with youth development and adult education. The Sons of Issachar After-School Academy is designed to benefit young men that are in grades 3rd through 8th; Project Hope is designed to benefit young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21. Adult education alternatives are made possible through a partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), which provide instructors for GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

CCDC also addresses economic empowerment, along with health, violence and education, through the Destiny initiative. In addition, we take on community development projects that create employment opportunities for the persons we serve in underserved communities.
